Private Cremation

What is Private Cremation

Our Private Water Based Cremation service ensures that your pet is respectfully cared for in their own chamber, with their remains lovingly returned to you in an engraved urn. Many families wonder what happens after their pet comes into our care, so we want to provide a thoughtful explanation of our process which is handled with care and transparency at our facility.

The Journey

Step 1

Compassionate Pickup and Tracking

We understand how difficult this time can be, which is why our team is dedicated to providing gentle and respectful care from the very first step.

  • Home or Veterinary Clinic Transport – Whether from your home or veterinary clinic, our team will arrive with care and compassion, using a soft blanket, stretcher, or basket to transport your pet with dignity.
  • Flexible Pickup Options – We offer same-day and scheduled pickups to best accommodate your needs.
  • Secure Tracking System – Your pet is carefully entered into our tracking software and assigned a unique identification number. At this time, we also confirm the cremation type and memorial items you have selected.
  • Gentle Holding Process – Until the cremation process begins, your pet is placed in our dignified, temperature-controlled walk-in refrigeration room to ensure their care and preservation.

Individual Cremation

Our individual aquamation process ensures that your beloved companion is treated with dignity every step of the way. From creating personalized memorial items to carefully tracking their journey, we are committed to providing a gentle and thoughtful experience.

  • Before the cremation process begins, we first create your pet’s memorial items, including their ink and clay paw prints and a fur clipping. If you’d like additional keepsakes, just let us know—we are happy to accommodate special requests.
  • For unique species, we take special care to memorialize feathers, scales, claws, or other meaningful features.
  • Your pet is then gently placed in their own private cradle for aquamation. This ensures the purity of their ashes and guarantees that you receive only your beloved pet’s remains.
  • We do not proceed with cremation until all memorial items are completed, ensuring every detail is handled with care. Throughout the entire process, your pet is meticulously tracked using our software system.
  • The cremation process carefully reduces the body to bone, taking approximately 24 hours.
  • Once the process is complete, your pet’s bones are dried and gently broken down into soft, white ashes, which are then placed in a sealed pouch labeled with their name. This final step takes an additional 24–48 hours to complete.

Step 3

Memorial Item Creation Process

While your pet is on their aquamation journey, we carefully prepare their personalized memorial items with great attention to detail.

  • The clay paw impression taken during check-in is carefully baked to preserve its shape.
  • The ink paw print is scanned into our engraving software and stored on file. We meticulously clean up the image, removing any small fur marks to ensure a smooth and beautiful engraving.
  • Your pet’s name is engraved onto the baked clay paw print, creating a timeless keepsake.
  • The appropriate urn is selected based on the amount of ashes generated.
  • The scanned ink impression is engraved onto the wooden urn, making it truly one-of-a-kind. Your pet’s name is also engraved, and once the ashes are placed inside, the urn is securely sealed.
  • Every step of the process is carefully tracked, ensuring that each pet’s ashes are respectfully handled and placed in the correct urn.
  • A cremation certificate and bookmark are created with the pet’s name on it.
  • Finally, all memorial items are thoughtfully placed into a Monarch bag, ready to bring your beloved pet back home.

Return of Ashes and Memorabilia

The entire cremation and memorialization process takes approximately two weeks. Once completed, we offer several options for returning your beloved pet’s ashes and keepsakes:

  • Through Your Veterinarian – If your pet came to us via your veterinary clinic, we will safely deliver their ashes back to the clinic for you to pick up.
  • In-Home Euthanasia Arrangements – If your pet was euthanized at home by a hospice veterinarian, their return will follow the arrangements made with them.
  • Direct Pickup from Monarch – If you entrusted your pet directly to us, whether through drop-off or our pickup service, you are welcome to retrieve their ashes from our West Palm Beach location.
  • Mailed Delivery – For an additional fee of $40, we can securely mail your pet’s ashes to you via USPS with a signature required upon delivery.
